
Why we stopped building “disposable” bathroom heaters
Let’s be honest: most bathroom heaters are designed to be thrown away. They’re sealed shut. The second a heating element burns out—usually around the five-year mark—the whole thing becomes a giant piece of scrap metal for the landfill. It’s frustrating. And it’s wasteful. So, we decided to do things differently. We built our Infrared wall heaters to be modular. In plain English? If a tube goes out, you just swap it for a new one. No drama. The logic is simple. We split the chassis, the reflector, and the heating element into their own separate parts. You don’t have to rip the entire unit off your wall just to fix a dead tube. The elements just slide into a bracket and lock in. It’s fast. It’s clean. And you aren’t spending your Saturday reinstalling a whole system. Now, bathrooms are tough on gear. You’ve got steam everywhere and harsh cleaning chemicals that eat through everything. To handle that, we use quartz glass tubes with a special coating to stop corrosion. Here’s the trade-off: these coatings mean you lose a tiny bit of raw heat compared to a bare tube. But it’s worth it. It stops the glass from pitting and cracking, which means the heater actually lasts. Maintenance shouldn’t be a headache. You shouldn’t need a degree in engineering or a specialized technician to fix this. We used standard connectors so you can swap a tube in under ten minutes. We spent a lot of time getting the fit just right—tight enough to keep the heat focused, but loose enough that you aren’t fighting the housing to get a new piece in. One quick tip, though. Since we have more connection points to make this modular, you have to make sure the wiring terminals are tightened down properly when you install it. If they’re loose, you’ll get arcing. Over five years of heating up and cooling down, those terminals can shift. If they loosen, the voltage drops, and your tube will die way sooner than it should. Just give them a quick check every now and then to make sure they’re snug, and you’re good to go.
